Vlog People is a film made by Karen Kavett for her Video for Photographers class at the
Rhode Island School of Design during Spring 2009. It is the story of vloggers, or video
bloggers, from the perspective of the people who don't have millions of subscribers. It explores
why people vlog, the so-called tier system in the vlogging community, and the future of
vlogging, among other topics. If you are unfamiliar with YouTube and vlogging, you may find
the following list of terms helpful.

Vlog: Short for video blog. Essentially, a vlog is like a video diary.
Subscribe: After you click the Subscribe button (once you're logged in) on
another user's page, any videos they upload after that will show up on your
home page in the Subscriptions box.
Partner: Users whose videos regularly get thousands of views are invited to
partnered, which means they can make money from ads next to their
videos and have more banner space on their page.
Collaboration Channel: A channel which is shared by two or more people is a
collaboration channel. Vlogs on these channels tend to be conversations
between each member. Popular collab channels include the VlogBrothers, fiveawesomegirls,
and fiveawesomeguys.
Nerdfighter: People who are fans of John and Hank Green (the vlogbrothers)
call themselves nerdfighters. They fight for nerds, not against them.
